Adult day training are training services intended to support
the participation of recipients in daily, meaningful, valued routines of the
community.
Adult day training services stress training in the activities
of daily living, self-advocacy, adaptive and social skills and are age and
culturally appropriate. The service expectation is to achieve the outcomes
(goals) defined by each recipient; and, to attain and support participation in
less restrictive settings. The training, activities and routine
established by the adult day training program shall be meaningful to the
recipient and provide an appropriate level of variation and interest.
Services are typically facility-based and are usually
furnished at a minimum of six hours per day on a regularly scheduled basis, for
one or more days per week. Enrichment
The Enrichment Program is designed to assist individuals who have disabilities
to enjoy the world; at a level individually tailored to their specific
challenges. Courses include small animal care, equestrian readiness,
woodworking, art, technology, exercise, employment readiness, and financial
management among others.
This day service increases
individual's abilities in daily living and socialization
skills for personal growth and independence. These
services are provided at The Arc Nature Coast
Enrichment Center and in the community.
C.A F.E.Community Access For Everyone. Community Access
provides individualized training in the community in order for individuals to
develop and enhance their community involvement and become a contributing member
in the community. This service is based on the premise that skill development
can be best accomplished in an individual's natural environment. These services
support the individual in valued roles in the community, are age and culturally
appropriate, increase the individual's ability to control the environment, and
encourage the development of friendship with non-disabled persons.
This service provides individualized training in the
community in order for individuals to develop and
enhance their community involvement and become a
contributing member in the community. This service is
based on the premise that skill development can be best
accomplished in an individual's natural environment.
Wal-martThis service provides
community based employment in local industries. The
Arc Nature Coast "contacts" with the industry and
then employs individuals to provide the labor, while
increasing their job skills.
Equestrian Program
The P.O.S.S.E. (Promoting Opportunities and Skills
with Special Equestrians) program is designed to benefit
physically, psychologically, socially and educationally.
Riders experience improved eye/hand coordination,
strengthened muscles, self confidence and improve
balance. skilled evolve quickly because horses are
extremely "hands on."
